Schnitz Hawthorn opens for Glenferrie Road Festival

Schnitz Hawthorn was open to help celebrate the Glenferrie Road Festival. We opened our doors a few days prior to our Official Opening which was on Tuesday the 27th of April 2010. As such, we only served a Sampling Menu consisting of Chicken Schnitzels, our famous Chipz, Soft Drinks and our Greek Salad.

The Glenferrie Road Festival was a huge success with an estimated crowd of 40,000 people. It took place on Glenferrie Road, between Burwood and Barkers Roads. This section of the street was closed off from 5am to 8pm and the Festival was officially run from 11am to 4pm. Attractions included:
  • A huge array of musical acts
  • Hawthorn Football Club,
  • Animal Farms,
  • Laods of Rides & Attractions,
  • Buskers,
  • Community Tents,
  • Giveaways,
  • and loads more...


Over 400 Free Chipz given away at the Festival

Schnitz gave away more than 400 free packets of our famous Chipz to anyone that joined our Schnitz-a-Holics Loyalty Club. Free Chipz vouchers were being given away at the Festival by our beautiful 'Schnitz Girlz' who were walking up and down Glenferrie Road handing out schnitzel samples. Our guests just had to write their names and emails on the voucher and handed them in to get our free Chipz. The response was excellent, with many people saying "they're the best Chipz we've ever had!"
