1. Overview
Schnitz upholds and respects your privacy and your rights to privacy protection as described in the Privacy Act 1988 and any similar legislation applicable to Schnitz's operations.
 
The following policy describes how Schnitz manage any personal information we have or collect about you during our business dealings.

 
2. What personal information does Schnitz collect or hold?

Customer Information
If you are an existing customer or if you are a future customer, Schnitz may collect or hold information received as a result of any dealing, transaction or interaction with you, including:
  • Your contact details (eg. name, address, phone number(s) and/or email address);
  • Any information you provide to us as a result of any dealing, transaction or interaction (ie. any feedback you leave us or requests for information); and
  • Any information you submit when joining our Newsletter or Promotional Program (or other such program) or collected as part of the administration of any such program.

Franchisee Information
If you are a prospective Franchisee, Schnitz may collect or hold information relevant to becoming a Franchisee. This may include:
  • Your contact details (eg. name, address, phone number(s) and/or email address); and
  • Financial and other related information you provide when submitting your Franchise Application Form.

Employee Information
If you are applying for employment, Schnitz may collect or hold information relevant to such employment including:
  • Your contact details (eg. name, address, phone number(s) and/or email address); and
  • Employment information and other information you submit to us as part of your Employment Application (ie. any information contained in any resume you provide to us).

Schnitz may also collect or hold other information you have provided to us as a result of any dealing, transaction or interaction with us which is not specified above.
 
Schnitz may also collect and hold statistical information regarding the use of our website which may include your computer's internet protocol (IP) address and the date and time of your visit.
 
If, at any time, you provide the personal information of another person to us then you must ensure that that person has read and understood this policy and separately consents to their personal information being used and disclosed by us for the above purposes.


3. What does Schnitz do with my personal information?
We use personal information about you in the following ways:
  • To assist in make responses to any requests you make;
  • To assist in providing you with goods and services;
  • To communicate various promotional offers and special events;
  • For our internal administrative, marketing, planning, product development and research requirements;
  • To process and assess applications received by us (eg. selecting Fanchisees or Employees);
  • To administer any completed agreement and provide the associated services;
  • To administer any Promotional Programs (or other similar program) which Schnitz may decide to implement as part of its marketing strategy;
  • For any purpose which was made known to you at the time your personal information was collected.
  • Schnitz may disclose any collected information to its agents and employees and/or franchisees of Schnitz and/or their agents or employees but only for the purpose for which such information was collected.
You may opt out of receiving any communications from us (other than those required for the operation of our business (for example communication regarding overdue accounts).
 

4. Access to your Personal Information
You may request access to personal information we hold about you by writing to Schnitz's Privacy Officer (address shown below). If we hold information you are entitled to access we will endeavour to provide you with a range of options for accessing this information (such as posting the information to you or sending it to you via email).
 
If you believe that the personal information we hold about you is incorrect, incomplete or inaccurate you may request to have it amended. Your request will be considered to determine if the information should be amended.
 
If we do not believe that the information should be amended then we will make a record of your request and note that you disagree with the information that we have about you.
 
Should you have any questions regarding this policy or if you wish to make a complaint regarding the treatment of your privacy by Schnitz you will need to issue these to Schnitz in writing and send them to the address listed below.

5. Miscellaneous
In the above Privacy Policy "personal information" has the same meaning as under the Privacy Act.  References to "Schnitz" are to Schnitz Pty Ltd (ACN 138 490 052), Schnitz Franchising Pty Ltd (ACN 138 490 070) and Leasing Properties Pty Ltd (ACN 138 490 061).
   
This policy is valid as at 31 August 2009. We reserve the right to change this policy from time to time and will update our website when we do so.

Although we intend to observe this policy at all times it is not legally binding on Schnitz in any way and from time to time we may find it necessary or desirable to act outside this policy. Schnitz may do so, subject only to any statutory rights or any other applicable contractual rights you have under the Privacy Act or other applicable legislation.
