Our customers are always wondering what makes our schnitzels so special. Is there a secret recipe or formula that makes all the difference?

Well the simple fact is that there are a lot of things that Schnitz do to make their schnitzels perfect. Here are a few that distinguish Schnitz from our many ‘fast-food’ competitors.



100% real meat – nothing processed
At Schnitz we only use the finest quality meats for our chicken, beef, pork and fish schnitzels. They are delivered to us fresh and are 100% real unlike many of our competitors that serve their customers processed meats that are bulked up with additives.

Our meat and fish is supplied by top-shelf Australian suppliers and because we sell such high volumes you can be assured that it is always fresh. We get our deliveries on a daily basis – not weekly like many fast-food chains.

Chicken Schnitzels
For our chicken schnitzels are made using 100% real chicken breast. They’re not ‘made from chicken breast’ like some of our competitors promote as this advertising is misleading and tricks you into believing you’re getting the real deal when in fact they are combining chicken breast with other chicken parts and ‘impurities’ to create a processed meal. At Schnitz you can see and taste the difference – one bite of our chicken schnitzel and you’ll be convinced of the quality.

Beef & Pork Schnitzels
Our beef and pork schnitzels are made from real, top-grade beef and pork and are tenderized on-site at our stores. We don’t take short cuts to ‘speed up the process’ or ‘cut-costs’ – our emphasis is always on quality.

Fish Schnitzels
As for our fish Schnitzels we use real Red Emperor fillets which are prepared fresh daily. The fish is of the highest quality and is never ‘processed’ – it’s just crumbed and cooked fresh for you to enjoy.



Only real vegetables used in our Vegetarian schnitzels
Most of our competitors use ‘processed’ vegetarian patties when making their vegetarian burger patties. There is no nutritional value and the patties are often dry and boring. At Schnitz, we’re re-inventing ‘vegetarian’ with the use of fresh vegetables in the preparation of our Vegetarian Schnitzels. We use fresh, Julienne-cut vegetables including: carrot, zucchini, cabbage, grilled Spanish onion, Japanese pumpkin and spinach. The vegetables are put in our own tempura pancake batter, cooked then crumbed to a vegetarian schnitzel unlike anything you’ve ever tasted. With schnitzels like this even the most avid ‘meat-eater’ could be convinced to take a walk on the ‘veg-side’.



We use surgical-grade stainless steel pans
Regardless of how busy we are, we still cook all our schnitzels in surgical-grade stainless steel pans. We chose pans because unlike a deep fryer which leaves a schnitzel saturated in fat, cooking in a pan only uses a small amount of oil and locks in the flavour. No microwaves, no deep-frying, and definitely no pre-cooking and ‘warming-up’ – your schnitzels are cooked fresh to order and it’s well worth the wait – you can’t rush quality.



Each schnitzels is cooked in fresh vegetable oil
We use only a minimal amount of 100% Cholesterol Free Vegetable Oil. Each time we cook the schnitzel we thoroughly wash the pan of all the oil from the previous schnitzel we cooked. We then put fresh oil for each schnitzel. The oil is never burnt because we use conductive fry pans that distribute the heat evenly unlike a hot plate.



Our schnitzels are made with love
Ok, I hear you asking “How can you make schnitzels with love?”. Well, if you’ve ever seen a professional musician or artist perform you can see the way they give their performance everything they’ve got. They love what they do and that’s exactly what our cooks do when they cook your schnitzels. Every schnitzel is made with love and passion; that’s why no two schnitzels are ever the same because they are made by hand to order – now that’s true love.



Each schnitzel is prepared fresh
We prepare the schnitzel for you fresh, coating it in flour, dipping it in fresh egg wash (which we make ourselves on-site using only eggs and milk and it’s free from any bonding compounds such as starch) and then we dip the meat into our secret seasoned crumbs. This process ensures the breadcrumbs are crunchy and don’t form a lumpy coating – an even coating of breadcrumbs is the key here. We then take it out of the crumbs and put it straight into the pan and cook it until it is golden brown – delicious!



No pre-preparing
We never pre-prepare our schnitzels and keep the schnitzels in a cool room or frozen in a freezer! They’re always prepared fresh daily from real meat – meat you can see and taste. We use only the finest quality meats which are supplied by our trusted suppliers. Also, our chicken supplier uses a ‘chemical free’ process when preparing our chickens.
